The majority of Eluaria's great western continent lies under the rule of the kingdom of Ostia. This human monarchy has laid claim to vast regions of the world, though how much is actually under the firm control of the king is subject to some speculation. Only humans have any sort of claim to titles of royalty or nobility here, but the kingdom rules over several regions where other races are more predominant than humans, such as Dark Ire or the Browned Hills.
Not all is as perfect in Ostia as it might sound: the non-human races are hardly treated as equals in any form of treaty or business dealings, and the kingdom has used physical, magical, and clerical force to take all the lands that they now lay claim to. Squabbling, bickering, treachery, and backstabbing amongst the nobles undermines much progress the kingdom might otherwise have made in many regards. Both the dwarven nation of Heatherstead and the elven Felfatheas are extremely wary of any treaties or deals with the humans, but while those trusts might worsen, the simple aspect of force in numbers maintains them as neighbors they can hardly afford to be at odds with.
Bridian
The city of Bridian lies in the far south of Ostia, the kingdom of the West, in a region largely known as the Wildlands. It is rests of the banks of the Peacemir river that flows down past the Evertime cliffs to empty into the Aear.Bridian is full of merchants, farmers, and other tradesmen, and while predominantly human, they also have some fractional mix of other races, including both elves, dwarves, halflings, and half-breeds. Explore Bridian!
Canary Islands
A tropical paradise spread out across a number of islands of varying size, the Canary Islands were long a secret to all but the most adventurous of sailing vessels. The islands are home to an indigenous population of humans with dark skin and hair, island inhabitants who for the most part know little or nothing at all of the world beyond the waves surrounding the islands. Both of the two main islands has a small town, with docks and services to welcome ships. Plantations are common here, growing many of the more exotic harvestable goods to be found in the world. Set sail for the Canary Islands!
Cretaine
The capital city of Ostia, Cretaine is an enormous city primarily built of stone structures. The population is almost completely human; outsiders are looked upon as something of an extravagant oddity, despite the fact that Ostia itself contains a waide variety of other races. The seat of the city is divided between the king's castle named Storm's Fist and the Cathedreal of Light. Visit the capital city of Cretaine!
Dark Ire Swamp
Buried near the center of the known world is the infamous Dark Ire Swamp, which few ever see. It is a land full of danger and intrigue, with many parts left unexplored by modern society and ready to be discovered. While Dark Ire technically falls under Ostian rule, few humans actually travel far into this inhospitable land, and for good reason - it is also home to the Dufkawzet, an infamous clan of green goblins.
There is no main city within the swamp, but there are sparse communities knit throughout the bog including an Ostian keep, a trading post known as The Post, and Dead Man's Brew, an odd pub that caters to those swampdwellers looking for a social setting. Those looking to stay the night anywhere in the swamp would be wise to seek shelter, as the night belongs to the Dufkawzet and few are safe within it. Do you dare delve into the Dark Ire?
Elleburg
The ruined city of Elleburg was once a famous city reknowned for its cavaliers in shining armor streaming penants from their lances as they rode on their fabled chargers into battle. This was all undone in some ancient battle, and now the city and all the lands around it only bear the ruins of what survived. The city itself was razed, the white stone columns and arches blackened or crumbled into rubble. Now only ghosts and evil roam the streets, and woe be the traveler who sets forth in this area at night! Sailors who have harbored in the bay report seeing skeletons walking the ruined ramparts, still following the orders of their final assignments to protect the doomed city so long ago. Fear the unknown in Elleburg!
Horibund
Horibund is not so much a city as it is a facade - this wooden-walled place is home to almost no one, but is used as a meeting place for anyone who seeks trade with the barbarians who roam the nearby forests and plains of the pennisula. Within the wooden walls can be found a large number of buildings that serve business to those who need it, but the town is usually quite vacant except for the solstices. It is then that the tribes gather her to celebrate these special dates as one group before slowly dispersing once more into the wilderness where they live their lives. Visit the untamed world of Horibund!
Jeskan
Once nothing more than a trader's stop known more simply as 'The Pit', Jeskan has grown to become more of a full-fledged town thanks to the prosperity from steady trade on all sides. The route to the north through the gorge is the main land route to Anduillan, and the nomads from the high plains of the Golden Fields come regularly to trade from the east, and traffic through the forest to the west comes from the city of Bridian. Relatively new are the long docks which jut out south into the harbor, allowing ships to dock who wish to avoid the tedious effort of rowing up-river to Anduillan. Join the growth in Jeskan!
Tidehaven
Tidehaven is three things in one - it is an island off the east coast of Ostia, which is technically a barony of the kingdom. The city on the island shares the same name, home to pirates, smugglers, and never-do-wells far and wide. There are few rules in Tidehaven, even with the oversight of a baron living near the highest point in the city, and corruption rules over all. Piracy and trade are the focus of most who dwell here, but there is a large supporting portion of the island that pays little attention to the city life or pirates or sailors at all. Set sail for the pirate waters!
The Glennings
This wide area of rolling hills is thought by many to be formally uninhabitated, but travelers of the region know it to be the lands of halflings and hobbits. These smallfolk who live here prefer a life of peaceful solitude disconnected from more rigidly organized societies. They are farmers, winemakers, and shepherds, and these things they do with exceptional craftsmanship, out of sight and mind from most of the world.
Living mostly in small buried homes burrowed under the hills, these peaceful denizens are quite content going about their lives in harmony with nature though all the world around them wages war - even in the war of the blood mages, the halflings here remained largely unscathed, because they were simply overlooked.
The Upper Glenning is the richest of the districts, where the mayor's house and those halflings who consider themselves 'well to do' reside, while the Lower Glenning is the least recommendable section of these lands, though even that would be the envy of many in other cities of the world.
